This week’s post is super special, a twofer as they call it. We were lucky enough to be featured on a guest post and a podcast. Woot woot!
Guest Post
Last week, we had the honor to be the first ever guest post for Sightsee MD and highlight some of the tips and tricks we consider when scuba diving abroad. For those of you who don’t know them, Sightsee MD blogs about travel and medicine, two of my favorite things. They also partake in volunteer humanitarian trips, another passion that is near and dear to my heart. So pretty much they are super cool in my book.
As for the post, this was a fun one to write as it gave me a chance to reflect on some of the awesome places we have dove over the years. We saw nudibranchs in Portugal, swam with hammerheads in the Galapagos, touched tectonic plates in Iceland and chased sea turtles in Hawaii just to name a few. We love to scuba dive, especially when we travel since it gives us an even deeper, behind the scenes look into the places we visit.

Podcast
We were also interviewed by J & Gwen on the FireDrill podcast. It was a blast and we talked about a lot of things, including bike accidents, traveling, volunteering, negotiating rent, a DIY expense tracking app, and more. Big thanks for allowing us this opportunity.
We had a lot of fun, but how could we not, those girls are just great! They chat with so many awesome and interesting people about their path to financial independence. It is an absolute must for anyone interested in FIRE!

Woo-hoo! You guys rock! I’m downloading the Firedrill episode right now to listen to on our walk today.
Tectonic plate touching? Are you sh-, I mean, kidding me?

Oh yeah, it was great! Except for the part when my drysuit leaked. Made for a rather, cold dive!
Nice work! I am going to go read about sciba diving now. It had been a while since I have been in the water.
Dove anywhere fun before?
Congrats! I’ll listen to it getting ready for work this morning.

The pleasure is ours, thanks for having us on!
That was an awesome and entertaining interview! “Stop asking yourself what could go wrong, ask yourself what could go right”
Also just got back from a January visit to Long Beach…wow that was a nice place to FI.
Thanks Mr. Shirts, next time hit us up when you’re in town. Long Beach is super close to us!
Congrats on the podcast! I listened to the first half of it on my ride home from work tonight. I probably should reduce the playback speed from 1.5x so you don’t sound like chipmunks 🙂

Haha, I only listen at 1.5 speed, now it sounds weird when I listen at regular speed. Makes us sound a little slow!
Mrs. G and I listened to you today. You guys really do rock. Awesome show. It was a blast learning more about you. And even though you were great, Mr. WoW was the star of the show. Anyone who can leave Gwen speechless is playing on a level that few of us can fathom, much less achieve. Cheers.

Aren’t those two ladies a blast? I had so much fun chatting it up I forgot to get serious talking about money. Nice work with your two-fer this week. You guys have some really fine home cooking going here. Time to add the chicken!
Chicken and waffles, that’s a mighty fine dish. Thanks for the kinds words Cubert.
“Sightsee MD”–ha ha cute name.
Love your FIREDrill podcast eposide! Those ladies rock and we loved being on their show too!
